Oat – homemade, incredible cosmetic for shiny hair, flawless skin and supple body

Hey everyone! <3

Do you like homemade cosmetics? I know the answer… I love them too! They are easy-accessible (our kitchens!), natural, perfect in its action, neither irritate nor cause allergic reactions. What’s more, we are in control when it comes to the composition of homemade products – form the very beginning to the very end. Today, I’m going to tell you about the amazing properties of oat. Some time ago I resigned from carrying out herbal hair treatments because I found them monotonous and somehow… obvious. Natural equals herbs? Not always! Let me show you oat – natural and homemade cosmetic of great power!

Oat – Composition and beauty properties

Do you like oatmeal? I adore it but many people eat it although they aren’t fond of how it tastes. Why is that? Of course, oat belongs to the group of the healthiest meals in the world! Its influence on health is invaluable, it boosts our immune system, counteracts diabetics and maintains our metabolic.

One tiny grain of oat is mighty and full of good stuff. This is a tiny pantry that was supplied by the world’s greatest expert – Mother Nature itself 🙂

Oat contains partly digested protein, essential fatty acids (olefinic acid and linoleic acid), carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins including B-group vitamins, E, A, K and D. And this is not everything. Oat also contains ceramides, magnesium, calcium, iron, silica and potassium – substances responsible for maintaining youthful look.

Oat-based cosmetics are safe for sensitive skin, relieve irritations, cure acne, boost skin protective barrier and encourage its self-regenerating processes.

Moreover, oat is a very rich source of beta-glucans that prevent water loss and are similar in the structure to hyaluronic acid.

DIY – Homemade oat cosmetics

1. COMPLEXION: homemade oat face mask

This face mask cleanses face skin, relieves irritations and soothes skin. Also, it displays rejuvenating properties.

  • 2 spoons of ground oat flakes,
  • 2 spoons of rice flour,
  • 2 spoons of oat bran,
  • 3-5 spoons of lime tree tea (infusion).

Combine dry ingredients and add lime tree tea infusion. To be honest, when it comes to the amount of the infusion added, it’s rather ‘intuitive’, just keep pouring it until you obtain dense mass that is easy to apply and won’t run down your face. Let the mask sit approximately 20 minutes and rinse it afterwards using lukewarm water. The significant improvement in terms of skin smoothness and elasticity is clear to notice. Face is smooth, its tone is even and all skin blemishes significantly reduced in size. When applied regularly, oat face mask makes your face supple and helps remove all skin imperfections.

2. BODY: soothing and smoothing oat bath

It seriously works! This is exactly how my bath has been looking like for a few months now 🙂 I noticed that my skin has become more elastic, moisturised and smooth. Moreover, all acne, irritations and other unwanted marks have disappeared from its surface.

When it comes to preparing oat bath, it’s just child’s play, trust me. All you have to do is take a linen bag and fill it with 50 decagram of oat flakes. Tie the bag really tight and put it into hot bathwater. Give it a few minutes to let it ‘infuse’ and get yourself into the bath 🙂 Marvel!

3. HAIR: oat hair mask

I fell in love with this oat mask just after one use, when I noticed the effect in the form of shiny and smooth hair. For the time being this homemade hair mask has outclassed all readymade masks available in drugstores I used. I think I’ve been applying this oat hair mask continuously for a month, and my hair can’t stop shine! How to prepare this oat hair booster? 🙂

  • 1 spoon of liquid honey,
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice,
  • 2 spoons of milk,
  • ground oat flakes.

Combine the liquid ingredients, reach for the oat flakes and add as much so as to get thick and easy to apply mass. Its consistency has to be similar to readymade hair mask’s texture. Put the mixture aside for 15 minutes so as to let oat release its properties and combine all the ingredients really well. Apply the mask to your hair (no matter if dry or damp). Rinse after 15-20 minutes and wash hair precisely. Enjoy the shine of healthy, nourished and moisturised hair 🙂
