Oops!…, I did it again. How to change the shade of a mismatching make-up foundation?

Hi girls! Today’s post was created from the need of the moment. I encourage all interested to keep reading the article.

A few days ago I was at a drug store doing shopping. Apart from an under eye cream and a moisturising face mask, I also bought… a foundation the shade of which doesn’t suit me at all. It has a yellowish tinge, makes my dehydrated epidermis and skin pores even more visible, and to make the matters even worse, I find it difficult to apply the foundation evenly. Obviously, when I applied it to my skin in the store, the shade seemed to be perfect for me, but when I got back home and reapplied it in my room, at the natural light… it was a tragedy! I guess I don’t even have to tell you how mad I was. I bet you think that I threw out this dud. Indeed, I was about to do this, but suddenly, I came up with an amazing idea thanks to which all drawbacks of the cosmetic vanished.

I gave a go to a few methods of lightening up the foundation’s shade and changing the consistency into a lighter one. I guess the most popular method is combining the fluid with a moisturising cream. In this way, we obtain so-called 2in1 cosmetic. Right after applying it to the face, you have to fix it with a transparent powder. The second, equally popular way is applying a make-up primer. Some of them bring out really surprising effects. For example, they can highlight, matte or lighten up a complexion. Sadly, I have to admit that these ‘life-savers’ didn’t get me the effect I was looking for. Therefore, I chose other, better solutions.

The cheapest method that I applied as the next one was buying the cosmetic tints. Obviously, I bought the colours that are in tune with my complexion colour. When combined with the foundation, I obtained a few various shades. I used just a pinch of the tint and mixed it with the foundation poured into a small, plastic cup. After that, I put the ‘new’ foundation onto my face. Remember, don’t apply the foundation onto your hand since, I’m totally positive about that, you won’t like the shade.

However, after all, the best method of changing the shade of a make-up foundation is the use of mixers. These are a special cosmetics that make a shade of a foundation either warmer or cooler. As far as I’m concerned, the widest range of these preparations is offered by NYX. The brand’s Pro Foundation Mixer consists of six mixers of various shades and of various tones. I combined my foundation with a warm, fair brown shade. The result? It was like hitting the jackpot! I guess, my face has never looked as pretty! I wholeheartedly recommend you such a solution!
