Cosmetic disappointments and wonders of the month. Colour and care products

Hello girls,

Time for the cosmetic rundown of the month has come. I had the opportunity to use a few really good products but there were also cosmetics that I will rather never come back to again. Surprisingly, the make-up products turned out to be quite astonishing in their performance. Unfortunately, this time the care cosmetics appeared to be a real flop.

Get Started Kit by bareMinerals

I bought this cosmetic set having natural make-up and my holiday trip in mind. The small black make-up bag managed to store five products and a brush. Thanks to this, we have: foundation base Prime Time, Original foundation, Matte foundation, Warmth bronzing powder, and Mineral Veil®Original powder. I chose medium shade, which matches my skin tone. The consistency of the products was exceptionally delicate; the cosmetics smoothed my skin and masked imperfections. One day I applied the primer, the foundation and one of the powders. All the products looked really good on my face. I’ll reuse the empty packaging to store other loose cosmetics there. And this lovely make-up bag – it’s really durable and fits into every travel bag or carry-on luggage.

Gold Griot Jean-Michel Basquita eyeshadow palette by Urban Decay

My personal must have is one of this iconic eyeshadow palettes designed by Urban Decay. This time I bought a small palette containing eight shadows of Gold Griot Jean-Michel Basquita. Inside the packing you will find a mirror, a double brush and marvellous colours: beiges, browns, nude, grey, dark blue and gold. And what’s the performance of the eyeshadows? The cosmetics are very intensively pigmented, stay long on eyelids, and enable us to apply both day and evening eye make-up.

Daily Energizer Cream by Clarins

According to the producer, the cream moisturizes, stimulates blood circulation and highlights skin. I was applying it every evening, I was systematic. Of course, I put the cream to cleansed face, neck and cleavage skin. After a few months I didn’t notice any effects, unfortunately. My skin still remained dehydrated. Even the natural substances (vitamin C, turmeric and ginkgo biloba) weren’t able to change much. The only thing that I liked about Daily Energizer was its consistency – light and velvet. The cream was easy to distribute on skin and was absorbed fast (or did it just dry out?). Unfortunately, every morning I felt that my skin wanted to drink even more. As you probably have guessed already, I left the jar to keep my homemade cosmetics there. The truth is, the jar isn’t big because it stores only 30 ml but I’ll find it useful one day, that can be taken for granted.

Serum Vax’in For Youth City Skin Solution by Givenchy

Luckily enough, I bought the smallest version of the cosmetic, which is only 15 ml. It was supposed to de-emphasize dark circles under eyes, moisturise, highlight skin and protect it against the action of free radicals. However, it turned out that this is just a ‘one in the crowd’ cream that drug stores are full of. The only plus of the cosmetic is its packaging. The bottle features a pipette that precisely doses the liquid.
