Shine like a diamond. My way for shiny make-up

No, I don’t want to convince you to start wearing strongly glittery make-up instead of its nude version. I’m not even an avid supporter of shiny make-up but I bet you already know this by reading my previous posts. I have come around the thought that if applied it in the right way, luminizing face make-up can make us look younger and add natural charm to our appearance. Is there anything else you would possibly want to achieve in the field of make-up?

Let me introduce you to my short How-To Manual concerning the skilful use of a highlighter and adding a little bit of shine to your daily make-up without making the effect exaggerated.

Why shiny make-up is hot?

Because it gifts eyes with brightness

Shiny make-up highlights the look. However, you have to be careful not to max out on it because thin skin of eyelids ages quick and gets flabby fast. Shiny eyeshadows may bring out the fine lines and wrinkles. Basically, glitter is reserved for teenagers mainly but mature women can reach for shiny eyeshadow as well but it’s better to  apply it in definitely lower amounts. All you have to do is highlight the middle part of the eyelid and apply the matte equivalent of the cosmetic to the inner and outer parts of the eye.

(My advice: shiny eyeshadow becomes easier to apply if you use your fingertips)

Because it slims down face oval

I’m not kidding! If applied the right way, a highlighter of a matching shade is the ideal way to make your face look slimmer than it really is. Naturally, no cosmetic is going to provide us with face lifting yet it’s possible to make us look younger, indeed. How to use a highlighter? Shiny make-up is about applying a highlighter to the temple line, nose bridge and Cupids arch. When it comes to people whose skin is oily or with imperfections, these should either resign from using the product or choose a highlighter of a very delicate shade. Why is that? Simply because strong highlighter may bring out the skin imperfections unnecessarily.

(My advice: before you use a highlighter even your skin tone with a foundation)

Because it makes your lips look bigger

Despite matte lipsticks being still the most trendy, I would like to encourage you to gift your lips with a little bit of shine. I recommend this technique especially to those women whose lips are narrow and would like to fix this without undergoing any invasive treatments. For that reason, reach for a shiny lipgloss, the one with highlighting particles or a special pigment which has to be applied to already done lips just to add the shine. Thanks to the reflection of light, lips will look more enticingly.

(My advice: to intensify the effect, apply a highlighter to the Cupids arch)
