[RECIPES] 2 Mind-Blowing DIY Lip Balms + 1 Amazing Scrub

Girls,

I’m sure you hate it when your lips flake and feel rough. I’m also sure you keep biting and licking them… until you cause serious harm to them. Why do we do that? After all we all want to have smooth, soft and plump lips, don’t we? So go for it! There is a way to have beautiful and alluring lips, or even a few ways to do so. Would you like to learn them? Read on!

Before applying a balm to your lips, it’s worth smoothing them out with a scrub, therefore I’ll also give you a recipe for one of the coolest home lip scrubs. It smells wonderful and is amazingly sweet, which is owed to a portion of honey and sugar.

[DIY] Sugar and cinnamon lip scrub

This is my fave home lip scrub. In case you don’t like cinnamon, you obviously can use other ingredients or just ignore this step completely. Whether you use cinnamon or not, this home lip scrub will give you stunning results. How to make it?

To prepare a home lip scrub, you’ll need:

  • 2 spoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 spoon olive oil, shea butter or coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

It’s super easy. Combine the ingredients in a bowl and that is it. Apply your lip scrub and keep gently massaging it with fingertips for 2 minutes. Remove. When your lips are finally smooth, you can move on to the next step – make your home lip balm.

[DIY] Honey lip balm

I love this balm for an all-natural formula that is free from paraffin, glycerin, parabens and vaseline. It’s just pure beeswax that lubricates, repairs and protects the delicate lip skin from chapping and drying out. Additionally, this balm contains castor oil that combats infections and other lip conditions. As for honey, it repairs skin, leaves lips more plump and is antibacterial.

To prepare home honey lip balm, you’ll need:

  • 2 spoons beeswax
  • 1 spoon castor oil
  • 1 spoon honey
  • 1 spoon shea butter (optionally)

How to make it? Melt the ingredients in a water bath, combine together and pour into a container. That’s all 🙂

[DIY] Cooling lip balm

Apart from moisturizing, lubricating and repairing, this home lip balm also smells amazing and cools your lips, thus it’s perfect for the summer. In case you’re not a fan of mint, you can swap it for any essential oil of your liking, e.g. green tea or lemon grass. The one containing mint looks like this:

To prepare home cooling lip balm, you’ll need:

  • 3 teaspoons shea butter
  • 1 teaspoon argan oil
  • a few drops of mint essential oil (or other)

Again, you have to melt the ingredients in a water bath and combine to create an even mass. Pour the mixture to a container and put it into a fridge to help it solidify faster. Your home lip balm is ready!
