Mascara is one of the most important cosmetics to me. I don’t need full face makeup to go to the store but I need to wear mascara. Finding my perfect mascara took me much more time than I thought it would. By trial and error, I selected a few products that worked well on my lashes, and I believe you will like them too.
What things do I consider when picking a perfect mascara?
When shopping for mascara, I always check the formula. I know that eyelashes require constant care. They are delicate and easily damaged by cosmetic chemicals. This is why I check the formula for oils and botanical extracts which have eyelash-conditioning properties.
A mascara brush is another key thing in a mascara. It must have a proper shape to catch short corner lashes and coat them without smudges on the eyelids.
Long-wear formula is important as well. I hate when mascara smudges under the eyes in the middle of the day. I want my mascara to stay flawless all day.
The Best Mascaras – My Top Picks
I tested various products; some performed well, others not so good. Now, on the basis of my analysis and observations, I can rank four mascaras starting from the best one. Obviously, some of them do have some shortcomings yet they are still better than others on the market.
1. Nanolash Mascara
My round-up starts with a sure favorite called Nanolash Mascara. It has many qualities that proved a pleasant surprise. I start with the fact that the brand offers two versions of the mascara:
- Nanolash Volume Up Mascara (a mascara for volume)
- Nanolash Length & Curl Mascara (a mascara for length and lift)
Now I’m using the Nanolash Volume Up Mascara but the length and curl mascara was my first pick. They both deliver amazing results after just one brushstroke. Speaking of the brush, it’s brilliantly shaped and made from silicone in both products. I always coat short corner and bottom lashes easily.
How long does the mascara stay on? Nothing to pick on! Nanolash mascara survives the hardest and longest day at work.
2. Lashcode Mascara
I decided to rank the Lashcode Mascara next. The product does change the looks of my lashes completely. I like the spoolie which lets me apply the mascara fuss-free.
I can’t complain about the durability either. The mascara stays flawless from morning until the end of the day. I never saw it running or flaking even after long hours. I recommend this product with a clear conscience.
3. Chanel Le Volume Mascara
Another mascara that worked well on my lashes was Chanel Le Volume. I had it for a long time and liked the results. I think the spoolie is a great asset. It isn’t as good as the one in Nanolash mascara yet it provides precise lash separation and there are no clumps during makeup.
The product stays on quite long, but it may slightly smudge when it’s raining. It isn’t the best choice for a winter getaway or sauna session, however, it doesn’t flake or clump during regular daily activities.
4. Lancome Oscillation Power Mascara
I came across the Lancome Oscillation Power Mascara accidentally. It isn’t very popular but worth checking. The product does lengthen lashes and it is possible after just one coating. I also like how long it stays on and its flake-proof formula.
The mascara brush was the biggest problem. Quite long and narrow, very short and stiff bristles. I struggled to reach the corner lashes and always ended up with mascara smudges.
Before I finish my ranking, I need to tell you that choosing a mascara is a personal matter. Naturally, you can use my suggestions and test my top products, especially the Nanolash mascara. Just remember it is up to you and you’re the one who’s gonna wear it every day. It should be a conscious choice.
