Fragrance. How and where to apply to extend its lifespan?

Howdy!

As most girls do this, I also keep a lot of perfumes, phials and fragrances in my dressing table’s drawer. I have a few products kept for a special occasion, regular scents to use daily as well as a few cosmetics that I bought only because I was intrigued by the design of the packaging. Thanks to this entry, you’re going to learn how I use the fragrances so as to enjoy the lifespan of the aromas long.

Where’s the best place to apply perfumes?

It’s best to apply perfumes, including mists, to the body parts where skin is the thinnest and the most delicate. Also, it’s a good idea to put the fragrances where pulse is palpable and where the body is the warmest. Therefore, wear the products: behind your ears, on the neck, temples, collarbone, the opposite of your knees and elbows as well as wrists. If your fragrance is alcohol-free, you can go even further and apply the product to your hair. Remember though that you don’t have to spray all the mentioned body parts. Even your beloved smell can become unbearable for those who are near you as it may become unpleasant for you as well.

How to extend fragrance hold?

All you have to do is apply a simple layering rule. As the name speaks for itself, you have to apply perfumes in layers. In other words, spray the body parts I mentioned above a few times by distributing thin layers of a fragrance. Actually, it’s also a good idea to use balms and shower gels belonging to the same fragrance collection. If you really care for the aroma to stay with you the entire day, apply it to the hair. However, be careful because fragrances products containing alcohol contribute to strand dehydration. I’ve also heard that a fairly effective solution is applying either jojoba oil or fragrance-free petroleum jelly first, and then follow with the perfumes.

How to store perfumes?

Perfumes have to be kept away from the sources of light, warmth and moisture. Bear in mind to close the bottle tight after each use. Thanks to this, you will prevent the fragrances from oxygenating. The best place to store perfumes is a cabinet in your bedroom or a special… fridge. You can find this kind of a device in the professional beauty parlours. Don’t place the fragrances in the bathroom or on the dressing table since they are constantly exposed to moisture and light.
