My tips on getting smooth legs. How to remove unwanted hair?

Hello girls,

It can’t be denied, the summer is knocking at the door. Soon we are going to put on airy dresses and short skirts. However, before we do that we need to remove hair from our legs. How to do this in the right way? And what are my favourite ways to get rid of the hair? That’s what you are going to read about in my today’s entry.

HAIR REMOVER CREAM

In my opinion, it’s the best solution for those who have difficulties with using a razor or wax. Sadly enough, creams aren’t recommended for people whose skin is sensitive or allergy-prone. Such products contain plenty of chemical substances, simply. The task of the very substances is to ‘melt’ the hair. How to use the creams? Apply a thin layer of the cosmetic onto your skin and then let it sit for as long as the producer instructs to. It’s also worth mentioning that hair removal creams go with a special spatulas with the aid of which we remove the residues of the cosmetic. Once the procedure is over, you have to wash the skin leg with water and moisturise it using a body balm.

Pluses:

  • a painless procedure;
  • if used regularly, the cream makes hair weaker;
  • the procedure designed for those who like goofing off.

Minuses:

  • can cause irritations;
  • can trigger discolorations on pale skin;
  • some creams are characterized by unpleasant smell.

RAZOR

I guess this is the most popular and the quickest way of hair removal. Despite the razor itself, you also need either a mousse or a gel. It’s important not to use the razor when your skin is dry since you can be 100% sure that irritations will affect your skin soon. How to remove hair using the disposable shaver? Do it very precisely and slowly by moving the razor against the hair. When you are certain that all the hair is no longer the resident of your legs take a moisturising or soothing cream and distribute it all over the leg skin.

Pluses:

  • a fast and easy method for smooth legs;
  • a painless treatment;
  • some razors feature a lubricating strip.

Minuses:

  • hair grows back after two or three days, becomes thicker and darker;
  • can cause irritations and ingrown hair;
  • a razor mustn’t be used when skin is affected by serious diseases.

EPILATOR

This is my best-loved method of hair removal. It’s very effective – the effect of smooth hair lasts even up to a month. Although this hair removal technique is time-consuming and sometimes can cause irritations, by my reckoning, it’s way better than a razor, creams and even wax. Our market is full of various epilators, some of them can be even used under water. The only drawback of this device is that you have to remember to keep it charged and regularly clean the disks that grab hair to pull it out. It’s also important to perform peeling before using an epilator. Thanks to this you will remove dead epidermis cells and, as a consequence, it will be easier for you to get rid of the unwanted hair.

Pluses:

  • provides smooth legs effect that lasts a few weeks;
  • most devices can be used both wet and dry;
  • it features pain-reducing heads and adjustable speed of discs rotation.

Minuses:

  • better models cost more;
  • can cause irritations (inflammation of follicles).
